It may not seem like we made it very far, but that wasn’t really the point. We have had the pleasure of wandering through Wisconsin before, but we never really had a lot of time to explore. Between soccer games, bike rides and long weekend trips, we are making up for it this time! We started our time here in Baraboo, home of Circus World and some of the most beautiful state parks around. From there we made our way to Arena to stay with the wonderful Hartung family. We were totally expecting to set up along the edge of a field, but they spoiled us with a level driveway spot complete with power and sewer hookups! I could try to explain how gorgeous their home/vineyard is but I’ll let this video speak for itself!
They treated us to two amazing dinners along with some wine made by their grapes… it was delicious! We even made our way to Mt. Horeb to try to get a bottle of the Fisher King’s Marquette but they were out (a great problem to have). But, while we were chatting with the winemaker he told us where we might still be able to find some and I’m pretty sure we bought the last two bottles on any shelf in WI! And… while we were in Mt. Horeb, we just had to stop in at the flagship Duluth Trading store and found some awesome new pants. If you haven’t heard about our love for Duluth Trading, you will soon, we promise!
While out in the countryside, we made a little visit to House on the Rock. If you haven’t heard of it, well, it is crazy. We toured the “house” which included what started out as a normal home and escalated into an insane collection that spilled into warehouses of displays. This guy even has a full scale carrousel and an abundance of creepy rooms filled with organs and mannequins. And, no trip to Wisconsin should be complete without a little trip down to New Glarus to visit the home of Spotted Cow – that’s worth a trip to WI alone!
Our last stop here was Madison for a few days (a day longer than planned due to the rain) to check out the city I was born in. We stayed in a great little county park just south of the city connecting us by bike path to all sorts of great gems the city has to offer. Even the rain couldn’t keep us from venturing out and exploring – we spend the day wandering around Madison’s amazing Farmers’ Market. We even made our way down to my parents’ first home and had a great visit with their neighbor.

So, this is a new feature you will start seeing in our blogs. We have been talking about doing product reviews since we hit the road and now that we are getting a little more structured in our planning and blogs we figured there is no time like the present. Since this is our first review, we thought we would start with the basics, and we mean basics.
Duluth Trading Company Buck Naked Underwear. That’s right… we’re writing about underwear! Whoever designs for Duluth Trading does an amazing job understanding fit, cut, quality of fabric and super fun designs. The fabric does exactly what they say it will – it keeps the stink out. Whether it is a long day of driving or a beastly kettlebell workout they keep you from smelling like you haven’t showered in a week – we love them! To get some of your own, either visit a store near you or order online!
Did I mention how much we love Duluth Trading?!? And the underwear are just the start of our addiction 🙂
